The data published by Croatian Institute of Public Health and Eurostat, has concerned this Mediterranean country in the spring of 2023. Experts and officials are raising the alarm: the root causes are insufficient physical activity coupled with a pronounced predilection for bakery products and sweets.

In the midst of this health challenge, coolinarika.com, the largest regional culinary platform with a +700,000 monthly users and +200,000 recipes, owned by the largest regional food company Podravka, is stepping up. Their mission is two-fold: to utilise strong dataset on healthy eating to help the community, and a strategic vision to connect with the upcoming Generation Z, who are steering the course of new food trends towards a healthier future.

They’ve approached us with a challenge: how can Coolinarika empower its users, especially the Gen Z, to make healthier food choices with the help of the generative AI technology?

This were our goals:

  1. SOCIAL IMPACT – to engage Croatian community to make healthier food choices.
  2. THOUGHT LEADERSHIP - to strengthen the position of Coolinarika as a relevant partner who anticipate users’ needs, while adapting to evolving technology standards.
  3. BUSINESS IMPACT – to leverage Coolinarika’s rich dataset on healthy eating to expand Gen Z user base.
