Goals and objectives
Myndstream is a company that designs music with the specific goal of helping people sleep, focus, relax, meditate and recover. As a brand it is committed to demonstrating the profound impact that music can have on everyone’s lives. Myndstream wanted BBC StoryWorks to make a film that raises awareness of the power of music in enhancing wellbeing. This short documentary-style film set out to achieve a visual representation of music’s role in providing a grounded mental health resource, specifically focusing on neurodiverse children.
Building this story involved finding a creative way to truly reflect the world neurodiverse learners live in, when they are not able to articulate their experience of often overstimulating everyday environments. The film sought to communicate how music can help focus and calm, as well as showcasing the science behind composing music for mindfulness.
We needed to find an immersive way of representing the impact of this unique music on the characters in the film as well as allowing the film’s audience to experience the sensory impact of this sound-rich story.
We aimed to directly showcase the client’s product - specially composed music to help calm and relax, but also to demonstrate the experience of the non-verbal characters of the story in an impactful way.
We hoped that creating this emotional and sensory connection with the audience would create longer lasting impact and positive brand recall for Myndstream.
